The avant-garde Volkswagen Arteon model 2018, extends the German manufacturer’s range. With a class above the Passat, Volkswagen Arteon was presented to the public at the Geneva International Motor Show in 2017.
This model is considered a gran Turismo offering more space and flexibility. Dimensions are: 2,841 mm wheelbase, 4,862 mm long, 1,871 mm wide, 1,427 mm high. Headlamps with LED technology are part of standard equipment. Designed in the style of a sports car, the rim size is 20 inches. The charismatic Volkswagen Arteon will be produced at the factory in Emden, Germany.
The luggage space offers a very generous volume of 563 liters (1557 liters with rear-seat folded). On the technical chapter, the new Gran Turismo impresses with six very efficient engines. The power range is between 110 kW / 150 hp and 206 kW / 280 hp with front or full throttle. Thanks to Modular Transverse Matrix (MQB) technology, the motor is mounted transversely. The new Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) system automatically adjusts the driving speed, according to the traffic limiters. Despite its progressive concept, Volkswagen Arteon is an affordable car, with two exclusive equipment lines: Elegance and R-Line.
The six direct-injection turbo engines have four cylinders. The strongest TSI develops 206 kW / 280 hp and the most powerful TDI develops 176 kW / 240 hp. The new 1.5 TSI Evo petrol engine with Active Cylinder Management (ACT) is extremely efficient. Any of the engines can be combined with an automatic dual-clutch gearbox DSG. The all-wheel drive 4MOTION is part of the standard equipment for the most powerful TSI and TDI engines. All other models have front-wheel drive. The sporty character of the new Volkswagen Arteon is accentuated by the new distinctive shades available for body color: Curcuma Yellow, Atlantic Blue and Chili Red.
Among the high-tech features we discover in the interior, there is the Active Info Display, the fully digitized dashboard instrument available as an option. The new Discover Pro Infotainment System manages tasks efficiently without analog buttons, thanks to the 9.2-inch diagonal display, also equipped with intuitive gesture controls. Sportiness and elegance are the dominant aspects of the new Volkswagen Arteon. The selection of materials and colors available to customize the interior is very generous. The ambience tends to elegance or sportiness, depending on the fabric, leather, Alcantara or textile.
For Nappa leather upholstery, there are three variants with two shades of color: Grigio-Titan Black, Valencia Brown-Titan Black and Mistral Gray-Raven Gray. For the R-Line variant of the new Volkswagen Arteon, the leather sports leather upholstery uses the combination of Nappa Carbon Style / Titan Black shades. Style elements always appear in harmony with the sporting side thanks to the contrast seams of the upholstery. Optionally, you can benefit from the three-zone automatic climate control system for the driver, the passenger on the right and the rear. It’s about Air Care Climatronic, which has innovative filtering technology thanks to the active biogenic air quality sensor.
It maintains air quality at a constant level and prevents the infiltration of pollutants and allergens. Among the new innovative systems developed by the German manufacturer, Sign Assist is part of the vehicle, warning the driver when a legal speed limit is exceeded. Pleasant surprises also occur in terms of maintenance costs. For the 1.5 TSI and 2.0 TDI versions that develop 110 kW / 150 hp, the first full service will take you three years or 37,282 miles (60,000 kilometers). Engine oil change, warned by the on-board indicator, will be done after two years or 18,641 miles (30,000 kilometers). Transmission oil does not require change. Therefore, total maintenance costs for the first four years or 37,282 miles (60,000 kilometers) are less than $240 (200 EURO). Volkswagen Arteon price $42,135 (35.000 EURO)
